Diane Dawtrey... Born and raised in South Africa, I moved to the Oakville area 40 years ago. A licensed Realtor for the past 22 years, I have been a consisent Award winning agent, and earned the prestigious RE/MAX Hall of Fame Award in 2013. Always doing what is in my clients best interest has helped me build lasting relationships with my clients. I believe in a hands-on approach and have a sincere commitment to my clients. My honesty, professionalism, knowledge and work ethic are the reasons for my high rate of repeat business and referrals.
I have earned my Acredited Senior Agent (ASA) designation, which gives me the knowledge to deal with the specific issues facing seniors as they transition or downsize. This includes the basics of real estate tax planning, estates, capital gains, transition moving and for those in need, care facilities, care takers and other related services. I am also a Certified Luxury Home Specialist, having training and education in marketing luxury homes.
In my personal time, ballroom dancing and riding horses are my passions. In 2007, I earned the equestrian "Dressage Canada" Silver Medal. I also compete in Canada and USA in competitive ballroom dance. Competing at this level requires a balance of discipline, focus, dedication and drive. I apply these principles and attention to detail to maximize my success and results for my clients in Real Estate. I take great pride in my ability to communicate with everybody, my sense of fairness, equitable and respectful treatment of others. I am an active listener, and can confidently determine a person's wants and needs. This comes in handy when finding your dream home, or reading people during negotiations and getting you, my client, the best possible outcome when purchasing or selling your home. I am a determined individual and will align my goals with your dreams to make sure we get you what you want.
In 2010, I partnered with my husband (Robert Barnes) in Real Estate, but unfortunately due to a severe knee injury, he has had to park his license and now he works as my unlicensed assistant.
Robert Barnes... I grew up in Toronto and had the good fortune to live my dream which was playing Junior hockey. Selected in the NHL Draft by the Toronto Maple Leafs in 1975, I opted for the WHA where I played in the Edmonton Oilers organization. Fulfilling another dream, I then went to Europe where I played and coached at the highest levels for over 26 years, living in 9 European countries and speaking 4 different languages. After early retirement from an active playing career, I owned, operated and was President of Torspo Sports Canada Inc., manufacturing, importing, marketing and distributing Torspo hockey sticks and equipment around the world. After ten years, I sold the company and returned to my passion by dedicating myself to the art of coaching, through higher education. I acquired a Canadian NCCP Advanced level 3 coaching certificate and my Masters Degree in Sport Psychology. I have had the priviledge of coaching 6 different National Teams, representing 3 countries, including Canada, at World Championships and have earned 3 World Championship Medals.
